Our ambition
Innovation is in the DNA of the Astek Group. It is therefore natural that it has placed it at the heart of its development processes by conducting ambitious Research and Innovation programs using its own funds. The main challenges are the development of skills through the training of junior engineers, the emergence of recognized expertise, the coordination of expert networks, and technical and commercial support for customer projects.
A Research and Innovation Direction is dedicated to the execution of this approach.
Our strategy
Research and Innovation contributes to the development of the Astek offer through 3 levers:
Open and collaborative research
which maximizes our resources by bringing in external resources: competitiveness cluster projects, Cifres theses, R&D collaboration agreements, research funding, etc.
Project support
by developing expertise in new technologies and removing technical barriers …
Operational marketing support
within the framework of responses
to calls for tender.
The objective is to hatch new ideas, to bring them to maturity thanks to an incubator specially dedicated to our employees, and thus to allow the creation of startups.

Develop new knowledge around the latest technologies to remove scientific and technical barriers to the development of innovation.
Product and service innovation
Integrate cutting-edge technologies into innovative solutions and products/services, illustrated by models, proof of concept, demonstrators or prototypes.
Astek relies on the experience of its expert consultants in collaboration with academic partners, and collaboration agreements with start-ups, SMEs or its customers.

Astek is very involved in sustainable development. For example, its management framework includes an Environmental Management System (EMS) that has earned it ISO 14001 certification. This “sustainable” footprint is also reflected in its research programs, almost all of which include an environmental dimension (control of alternative energies, etc.) or a societal dimension, often focused on helping people (solutions to disabilities, etc.).
The technology areas implemented in Astek’s R&I programs address:
- Either new information technologies: AI, Bigdata, Blockchain…
- Or scientific engineering disciplines such as algorithmic calculation, image processing and signal processing…
The technological fields naturally also cover the key techniques at the heart of tomorrow’s intelligent systems, such as:
- Communicating objects such as IOT with their constraints of calculation and consumption, telecommunications, Cloud data processing …
- Sensors for intelligent systems for a perception of the environment in terms of telemetry, sound, electromagnetism…
